“Both Sides of the Paycheck: Recommending Thrift to the Poor in Job Readiness Programs," co-authored by Associate Professor of Sociology Gretchen Purser and Brian Hennigan '13 M.A. (Geog)/'21 Ph.D. (Geog), was awarded the John Russo & Sherry Linkon Award for Published Article or Essay for Academic or General Audiences by the Working-Class Studies Association.

Matther Huber, professor of geography and the environment, discussed his new book, "Climate Change as Class War," in The Nation article, "The Green Transition Must Be Union-Powered."

Huber, professor of geography and the environment, focuses on the everyday material struggle of the working-class over access to energy, food, housing and transportation. Huber argues that these necessities are core industries that need to be decarbonized.

Seven Maxwell students and alumni have been named as 2022 recipients of awards through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The program funds a range of awards that include English teaching assistantships (ETA) and study/research grants in over 140 countries.

Syracuse University’s Remembrance Scholar Selection Committee has chosen the 35 students who will be the 2022-23 Remembrance Scholars.

The 2022 One University Awards were held Friday, April 22, in Hendricks Chapel. The annual event honors members of the Syracuse University community who are making a difference through academics, scholarship, creative work and dedicated service.
