From self-driving cars to drone delivery systems, from robotic underwater vessels to smart-home technologies, autonomous systems are transforming our world—posing complex social, ethical and legal questions that demand interdisciplinary, multi-faceted research.

A panel of experts—from the public and private sectors and from academia—will discuss these wide-ranging systems and the current and future policy and governance considerations, implications, and innovations stemming from these technologies.

Panel participants will include David M. Van Slyke, Dean, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and Louis A. Bantle Chair in Business and Government Policy; Jamie Winders, Professor and Chair, Department of Geography, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs; Travis Mason, Vice President of Public Policy and Head of Regulatory and Certification, Airbus; and Pamela Cohn, Managing Partner, Ascension Global.
