Biography

Amy Ellen Schwartz is a Professor of Economics and Public Administration and International Affairs and the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Chair in Public Affairs. Her research interests span issues in education policy, urban economics, and public finance. Current projects include a study of the role of transportation on school choice, commuting, and student outcomes; an examination of the impact of housing vouchers on school access and academic outcomes; a study of how neighborhood crime shapes students success and the link between the retail and built environment on children’s success; and an investigation of school food and special education programs. Her work has been published in a range of journals and her research has been funded through grants from foundations and various federal agencies. Amy serves on the editorial board of Regional Science and Urban Economics and is the Editor of Education Finance and Policy. Full Biography
