Bio
Frank was born in a little village within Ghana’s forest belt and in a community primarily engaged in farming, where he spent his childhood watching the community members till their land with a passion. Life was very fulfilling, as the surrounding lands readily provided the resources needed for a living. This early childhood experience created a strong passion in Frank for something related to food and agriculture which led him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science in Ghana and continued onto a graduate study in sustainable agriculture at the University of Padova, Italy. He recently finished a graduate degree program in food studies from Syracuse University.
Frank's research interests lie in agriculture and food systems, specifically in how dynamic forces intersect and shape our global food systems. He is particularly focused on the interactions between food and racial justice, food systems labor, transnational environmental and agricultural policy, social policy, and inequality within the context of the food system.
To Frank, food is a fundamental aspect of life that serves as a lens through which we can understand the world. It intersects every facet of everyday life and impacts how agriculture, economics, science, politics, culture and human rights connect.
