Bio

Lucas is a Ph.D. candidate in the economics department. He examines how environmental conditions—and the policies we implement to adapt—shape individual well-being and regional economic outcomes. Prior to the Maxwell School, he worked as an instructional designer at MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), served as head teaching assistant at Harvard Extension School, and founded the economics program at Excel Academy, where he taught high school economics and history.
