Marking 80 years since the United States dropped its first nuclear bomb on Japan, CNY Central spoke to Margarita Estevez-Abe, associate professor of political science.
"The lessons are that we haven't learned any lessons," said Estevez-Abe. "The world seems to be just looking at, you know, nuclear weapons are just useful for, national security and if you think about Japan, just at least some people in Japan are considering nuclear weapons as something that might help Japanese national security."
