Andrew London, professor of sociology, was elected to serve as chair of the American Sociological Association's Drugs and Society Section. The one-year term begins in 2022. The purpose of the Drugs and Society Section is to encourage research, teaching and the examination of professional concerns in the study of the sociology of substance use and misuse, its context, and associated problems.
