In the era of fake news, why do people hold onto beliefs that have been proven false? New research by Emily Thorson, assistant professor of political science, shines a light on these “belief echoes” and how they can be broken. She recently discussed the topic on WCNY's Capitol Pressroom. "Corrections of misinformation are constantly being amplified," says Thorson.
