Geography faculty members Jacob Bendix, Peng Gao, Mark Monmonier, Jane Read, and Jamie Winders will collaborate with faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering and Computer Science on a project that aims to develop operational expertise in environmental monitoring and geoscience surveying by applying UAS technologies to current research projects. The project, "Environmental Monitoring and Geoscience Surveying Applications for sUAS at Syracuse University," is one of six collaborative research projects across Syracuse University’s various schools and colleges that together have been awarded more than $230,000 in state revitalization funding for research focused on “drones”.
