University Announces 2022-23 Remembrance Scholars

Syracuse University’s Remembrance Scholar Selection Committee has chosen the 35 students who will be the 2022-23 Remembrance Scholars.

Maxwell Student Named Class of 2023 Senior Class Marshal

Michael "MP" Geiss has been named one of the University’s Class of 2023 Senior Class Marshals. Geiss will represent his graduating class and lead the student procession during the 2023 Commencement ceremony.

Four Students Selected to Attend Prestigious Public Policy and International Affairs Institutes

Four Maxwell School students have been selected to participate in the highly competitive Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) junior summer institutes. PPIA fellows are rising seniors who are committed to pursuing a master’s degree in public policy or international affairs and a professional career in public service.

For Humphrey Alumnus Nicolas Pichay, All the World’s a Stage

Nicolas Pichay's Humphrey year research informs “Lapulapu, Ang Datu ng Mactan,” a musical he wrote about a 16th-century Filipino hero. The show, presented Oct. 24 at Manila Metropolitan Theater, was part of the Philippines' commemoration of the 1521 Battle of Mactan and the arrival of Christianity in the country. The indigenous leader Lapulapu, a symbol of Filipino resistance, is remembered for defeating the forces of Ferdinand Magellan, who was killed in the battle.
