Bio

Facundo F. Robles is a Ph.D. student in the Political Science Department at the Maxwell School. His research examines how great power competition shapes the strategic autonomy of middle powers.

Prior to Syracuse, Facundo served as a program coordinator in the Wilson Center's Latin America Program in Washington, D.. He also served as head of international relations at the School of National Defense of Argentina's National Defense University (UNDEF), and as research director on a project examining infrastructure dependency and strategic autonomy in the Southern Cone.

He is an INKA research fellow at the Stimson Center's Latin America Program, an associate researcher at CEPE (Universidad Torcuato Di Tella), and a member of the United States Committee and Young Group at the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI). He previously taught the graduate seminar Geoeconomics of Defense and the course Public Management and Politics at UNDEF.

Earlier in his career, Facundo worked for the government of Buenos Aires City's Ministry of Economic Development. His writing has appeared in Global Affairs Annual Review (CARI), Formiche, Democracy & Society, and Americas Quarterly.

Facundo holds an M.P.P. from Georgetown University as a Fulbright scholar and a B.A. in business administration from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
