The Center for Naval Analyses, a nonprofit research organization that applies operations research and analysis to a broad range of national security issues, has promoted Jessica Scott Wolfanger ’01 B.A. (PSt/PSc) to senior research scientist.

Laurence H. Mass ’87 B.A. (Econ/PSt) has joined Dye Creek Capital as a partner. In this new role, he will focus on investments, borrowing and liability management, risk management and trust, estate and fiduciary services.

"Board members’ fiduciary duty, as well as their advisory and oversight responsibilities, require an understanding of sustainability and the impact of ESG ratings on both enterprise and shareholder value," writes John Mandyck ’89 B.A. (PSt)/’92 M.P.A. and his co-author. "There is a growing body of data showing that companies adopting sustainability practices outperform their peers."

Maxwell always served undergraduate social science students. But, for this fall’s incoming class, admission to Maxwell is direct and the “Maxwell freshman” is official.

Austin Zwick, assistant teaching professor of public affairs, says the job actions are an attempt to shift the balance of power between drivers and platforms, which now have the power to arbitrarily determine compensation and benefits. "The joint strike plus boycott strategy appear unlikely to succeed nationally as it does not appear that all drivers and passengers are unified behind the cause."

The scholarships were founded as a tribute to—and means of remembering—the 35 students who were killed in the Dec. 21, 1988, bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, and are funded through an endowment supported by gifts from alumni, friends, parents and corporations.
