The 2022 One University Awards were held Friday, April 22, in Hendricks Chapel. The annual event honors members of the Syracuse University community who are making a difference through academics, scholarship, creative work and dedicated service.

Celebrated broadcaster Michael T. Tirico, one of the most recognizable faces and voices in television sports coverage, will deliver the alumni keynote address at the 2022 College of Arts and Sciences | Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs Undergraduate Convocation Ceremony.

While the early months of the pandemic were marked by higher mortality rates among Whites in blue (Democratic governor) states, red states (Republican governor) experienced larger increases in 2021.

Lerner Affiliate Miriam Mutambudzi, along with SU Falk College's Maria Brown, received the grant for their project "Childhood Adversity and Cognitive Trajectories in Later Life: The Influence of Race and Everyday Discrimination.”

Four Maxwell School students have been selected to participate in the highly competitive Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) junior summer institutes. PPIA fellows are rising seniors who are committed to pursuing a master’s degree in public policy or international affairs and a professional career in public service. 

Associate Professor Michael Ebner, an expert on the history of Italy and fascism, was featured in the HISTORY article "How Mussolini Seized Power in Italy—And Turned It Into a Fascist State."

“Material Hardship and the Living Arrangements of Older Adults,” written by Colleen Heflin and Hannah Patnaik, was published in the Journal of Family and Economic Issues.
